Do I need a cleaning service?
Is your home stressing you out?! Do you never have enough time to keep up? Are you tired every time you come home? Then yes! You need a cleaning service! But there is so much more to deciding if this is the right time to get a service, how to find the right company, and can you afford this. Each individual company can be so different in what they offer, deliver, and charge. All of these are important factors to consider when deciding if hiring a cleaning company is right for you. You must ask yourself how a cleaning company will support you, your health, your happiness, your dreams, and your relationships. What is going to be improved when you have a cleaning company?
What do I need?
The first thing to look at is what do I need? Why am I needing or wanting a cleaning company in the first place? It could be that you just don’t have the time to keep up with the upkeep. It may be that you are frustrated that you are the only one in the family doing the cleaning. It might even be that you want to spend your time doing things you actually enjoy or spending more time with your loved ones. Whatever it is, figure out why you are looking for someone else to clean. Write down (with old fashioned paper and pen) how this is going to benefit my life.
Take care of yourself before you can care for others.
2. What do they offer?
Once you have landed on that reason then figure out what you want accomplished. Do you need just bathrooms and floors done, do you want a full home cleaning, or do you also need a complete upkeep and maintenance on the home with additional things like windows, light fixtures, or inside closets? Make sure the company you are considering offers what you need. Read their website, check out their social media pages, or give them a call and ask specific questions to find out if they can even do what you are asking. It helps to add to your sheet of paper exactly what you want done, so that you can make this clear to the company when they begin cleaning your home.
Leave it to the professionals.
3. How do they deliver?
Now that you found a couple places that offer what you need in your home maintenance, then look at how they deliver or if they deliver what they say. Turn to reviews on Google, Facebook, or people you know that use the service. I would avoid looking at Yelp for honest reviews because the Yelp company can choose to take down good, bad or all reviews at any time from companies. Look for reviews that are more current as these may reflect where the company is now. Listen to the reasons people wrote these reviews. And definitely read how the company responds to both good and bad reviews. If a company does not acknowledge the issue or puts down the customer, it may not be the best company to work with. In the company responses look for honesty, respect, and wisdom. Do not skip this step or you may end up with a company that over promises and under delivers.
Find the very best.
4. What is my budget?
So you should now have a list of a couple companies that offer the right service and deliver with a quality you desire. Lastly is what they charge and is it worth it to me? The reason I suggest looking at this last is because if you go straight to the cheapest service, more times than not you will be disappointed and lose time and effort in the process. Always make sure the company fits your needs before moving onto price. At this point you will know what your budget is and which company to go with.
Invest in you.
5. Make the decision by reflecting on your life
Choose the one that you can afford and that most closely matches what you are seeking. Go back to your notes and review why you are looking for someone else to do the cleaning and how it would positively impact your life. Weigh out the options and find the right balance between price, the service, and the quality of your life. It will be very clear which one will make the most positive change in your life. Now enjoy your life and let your new cleaning company keep your home sparkling!
Remember how important your relationships are!
